The Environmental, Society, and Governance (ESG) committee, under the Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE), successfully organised two sessions of the Zero Waste Talk—one at the Melaka campus on 24 August 2024 and another at the Cyberjaya campus on 26 September 2024.
Ms. Rina Omar from the Free Tree Society (FTS) Kuala Lumpur served as the keynote speaker, sharing her valuable insights and perspectives with MMU staff and students. Her engaging presentation not only educated attendees about the principles of sustainable living but also inspired them to recognise their individual roles in fostering a healthier environment.
The talk emphasised the importance of collective action, encouraging the university community to be part of the solution rather than contributing to pollution. Participants left with a deeper understanding of sustainable practices and practical strategies to reduce waste, ultimately aiming to create a lasting positive impact on the environment. This initiative reflects MMU’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices within its community.
