The Centre for Alumni (CfA) and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC), hosted a delightful hi-tea appreciation ceremony at the Multipurpose Hall on the Cyberjaya campus on 19 October 2024. The evening was graced by our Chancellor, YABhg. Tun Dato’ Seri Zaki Tun Azmi, alongside MMU President, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud.
In his speech, Tun Zaki emphasised the role of the Permata Dunia to its alma mater and encouraged more alumni’s involvement with the university. The event featured the presentation of certificates and plaques as part of the Permata Dunia Awards, with Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham leading the ceremony. Two distinguished recipients of the Permata Dunia Special Award were recognised: Ts. Tan Aik Keong, founder and CEO of Agmo Group of Companies, and Ts. Noor Mohd Helmi Nong Hadzmi, founder of IX Telecom. Both honorees have made significant contributions to the university, and Tun Zaki presented plaques and certificates to them, acknowledging their impactful work.
Additionally, the event celebrated the new eCadet partners and mentors, who received their certificates from Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham and Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED).
The evening also highlighted MMU’s recent triumph in the Anugerah Keusahawanan Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi 2023 (AKKPT), where the university, alongside its dedicated staff and students, garnered multiple awards and recognitions. The winners of the Digital Innovation Creativepreneur (DICE) 2.0 competition were also honored, along with the participants of the Nescafe Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (NYEP) 2023.
This gathering not only celebrated individual and collective achievements but also reinforced the university’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and strong alumni relations.
