A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between Multimedia University (MMU)and the Iran Cultural Centre Malaysia (ICCM) at Cyberjaya campus on 30 September 2024. Signing the pact were Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU and Dr. Habibreza Arzani, Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The partnership aims to foster a dynamic range of joint initiatives, including cultural events, film screenings, and film exchange programs. Additionally, the collaboration will facilitate academic and student exchange programs, providing invaluable opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and cultural experiences. This cooperation is expected to benefit both nations, particularly in the film industry, by creating avenues for innovative projects and research that extend beyond the Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA).
During the visit, the ICCM delegation had the opportunity to explore the facilities and learning spaces at the FCA, showcasing MMU’s dedication to providing a conducive environment for film and cultural studies. Also present at the ceremony were Prof. Ir. Dr. Hairul Azhar Abdul Rashid, Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement & Touchpoint (MEET); Ts. Shahfeeq Jibin, Dean of FCA; and other MMU officers, who joined in celebrating the beginning of this promising collaboration. This MoU further underscores MMU’s role as a key player in promoting cultural diplomacy and academic exchange on a global scale.
