Let us extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Vincent Chan, an academic staff member from the Faculty of Business (FOB), for his exceptional mentorship that led Team 007 Consulting to secure second place in the prestigious FutureReady programme. The team, composed of four students from different universities, not only won the title of first runner-up but also a cash prize of RM5,000 at the event held on 28 September 2024.
Under Mr. Vincent Chan’s expert guidance, the team was tasked with crafting an innovative business model to transform Bukit Beruntung into a future-ready eco-smart city. Organised by Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman and Accenture, this highly competitive programme saw the participation of 12 teams from universities across Malaysia. Mr. Vincent’s mentorship proved instrumental in shaping the team’s visionary proposal, which focused on integrating advanced technologies to revolutionise the township’s infrastructure.
Their forward-thinking plan featured smart energy systems, efficient public transportation, and pioneering green building designs. One of the standout elements of their proposal was the introduction of cutting-edge solutions like AI-powered waste management and solar-powered smart grids, all aimed at making Bukit Beruntung a sustainable and highly attractive destination for both residents and investors.
Additionally, the proposal outlined innovative tourism and commercial strategies designed to transform Bukit Beruntung into a vibrant cultural and economic hub, while maintaining environmental sustainability. The team’s practical yet ambitious approach was praised by the judges, who commended the feasibility, long-term vision, and potential positive impact of their solution on the community.
Mr. Vincent Chan’s guidance, expertise, and dedication were pivotal to the team’s success. His mentorship fostered a strong sense of innovation and strategic thinking in the students, ultimately earning them a well-deserved second place in this prestigious competition.
