Let’s give a big round of applause to Intan Sakinah, an exceptional student from the Faculty of Cinematic Arts, who has been selected for the third edition of Tech Tales Youth. Hailing from Penang, Intan is a passionate storyteller and musician, celebrated for her documentary “Face-to-Phase,” which was featured by Cult Creative in 2021, as well as for two short films showcased at the Rantai Art Festival in 2023.
Tech Tales Youth serves as a platform to amplify the voices of young filmmakers within the digital rights movement, offering invaluable mentorship in advocacy filmmaking to those aged 18 to 30. Out of nearly 50 applicants, only six talented filmmakers were chosen to receive up to USD 2,000 for their films, alongside an additional USD 1,200 for transmedia activities. Intan participated in the workshop from 18 to 20 September 2024.
This innovative programme aims to deepen participants’ understanding of human and digital rights while equipping them with the skills necessary to create films that inspire social change. The Tech Tales Youth film collection is set to premiere in December 2024 on Cinemata, showcasing essential narratives about digital rights and the power of storytelling.
