On 29 September 2024, twenty international students from the English Proficiency Programme (EPP), one alumnus, and six lecturers from the Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE) at both the Cyberjaya and Melaka campuses, including the Director, Dr. Nina Ong Sue Lyn, visited the Kuala Lumpur Craft Carnival. This visit aimed to immerse students in Malaysia’s traditional crafts, showcasing the unique cultural heritage of various communities.
The MMU delegation received a warm welcome from Puan Iman Nadia, the main coordinator from the Corporate Communication Unit of the KL Craft Complex. Curators Puan Iman Nadia and Mr. Ahmad Faisal, an MMU alumnus, captivated the group with their extensive knowledge of Malaysian arts and crafts. They introduced participants to traditional crafts, including Batik painting and intricate weaving techniques. Additionally, the group explored the carnival’s village, where they observed artisans at work and engaged in hands-on weaving workshops. The event left participants with an enriching and unforgettable cultural experience.
