In a bid to strengthen the collaboration between academia and industry, Career Connect hosted the ‘MMU Mingle Hi-Tea’ at the Multipurpose Hall (MPH) of the Cyberjaya campus on 22 October 2024. The event brought together a diverse group of industry partners, offering an invaluable platform for fostering meaningful connections and exploring future collaborations.

The gathering was graced by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, who delivered the welcoming remarks. In his speech, he highlighted MMU’s vision and mission, emphasising the university’s role in shaping industry-ready graduates and its ongoing efforts to enhance industry partnerships. His address provided attending industry representatives with valuable insights into MMU’s achievements and its commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation and education.

The event was also attended by key members of the university’s leadership, including Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience & Entrepreneurship Development (SEED), and Mr. Zambri Pawanchik, Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Admission and Recruitment (SMART). Deans, deputy deans, and other senior officers were present, further emphasising the university’s commitment to deepening ties with industry.

Also present were Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar, Chief Explorer of Komet Productions Sdn Bhd, Mr. Chris Seto, Managing Director of Dataxet Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Ms Wendy Lim, Talent and Culture Director of Grant Thornton Malaysia PLT along with other top representatives of human resourses from the invited partners.

The MMU Mingle Hi-Tea provided a platform for dynamic interactions between MMU’s academic leadership and industry leaders, paving the way for future collaborations, internships, industry-driven research, and more. By bridging the gap between academia and industry, the university continues to nurture a collaborative ecosystem that benefits both students and the wider professional community.
