The flag-off ceremony for Sukan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (SUKIPT) 2024 took place on 4 September 2024 at Dewan Tun Canselor, MMU Cyberjaya campus. The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience & Entrepreneurship Development (SEED), who delivered a stirring motivational speech to energize the MMU athletes. Prof. Dr. Wong spoke on behalf of MMU President Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, who was unable to attend due to another important session.
During the event, Thaniges a/l Kumar, President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) handed the MMU flag to the contingent representative, marking the official send-off. The occasion was also witnessed by Prof. Wong Eng Kiong, Mdm. Sri Kusumawati Mohd Daud, Director of Student Lifestyle & Experience (STyLE) and audience.
The 2024 edition of SUKIPT will see over 74 contingents from higher learning institutions across Malaysia competing in this prestigious sporting event. More than 6,000 athletes will vie for 233 gold medals across 28 events, hosted by Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in Sintok, Kedah, from 6 to 14 September 2024.
MMU’s contingent consists of 89 athletes, who will represent the university in 13 different sports disciplines. The event also saw the attendance of sponsor representatives from FELET International Holding Sdn Bhd, who reaffirmed their unwavering support for our athletes.
