The Law Moot Competition Division of the Multimedia University Law Society (MULS) in collaboration with the Faculty of Law (FOL), successfully hosted the second advocacy workshop, “Law in Action: Mastering Courtroom Dynamics,” on 7 September 2024. The workshop featured two insightful sessions by esteemed legal practitioners.
The first session, led by the esteemed Mr. Kee Tong Kiak (Partner at Messrs. Chee Siah Le Kee & Partners), delved into the fundamentals of courtroom etiquette, and essential advocacy skills. Participants gained valuable insights into effective communication, demeanour, and the art of persuasive argumentation which are the key tools for aspiring legal professionals. In the first session, Mr. Kee Tong Kiak focused on courtroom etiquette, protocols, and advocacy skills essential for law students.
The second session, led by Mr. Tan Song Yan (MMU Alumnus and Partner at Messrs. Song Yan & Tang), covered moot court proceedings, effective legal research techniques, and crafting quality memorials. Both sessions offered valuable insights to enhance participants advocacy and research skills, preparing them for mooting and future legal careers.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Kee Tong Kiak and Mr. Tan Song Yan for generously sharing their expertise, and to all participants for their active involvement. We look forward to welcoming you at future events!
