The Faculty of Business (FOB) hosted an engaging industrial talk titled “Money Matters & Career Clarity: Financial Literacy Meets RIASEC Insight” at Melaka campus on 11 September 2024. This event was organised by the Diploma in Accounting Unit and featured two speakers: Ms. Lim Sue-Anne, a registered counsellor, and Mr. Ryan Gan, Director at DoctorAnywhere.
Attended by 100 students from Diploma in Accounting and Diploma in Digital Business, Ms. Lim Sue-Anne presented on the RIASEC model—Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional—exploring how aligning career choices with personality traits and interests can enhance career clarity. She emphasised the crucial role of self-awareness in making informed career decisions. Meanwhile, Mr. Ryan Gan shared valuable insights and experiences from his professional journey, providing attendees with practical perspectives on career development.
The talk, spearheaded by Accounting lecturers Ms. Fathiah Hashim, Ms. Siti Zarifah Amir, and Ms. Norliza Darus, aimed to connect academic knowledge with real-world industry insights, offering students a comprehensive understanding of financial literacy and career planning.
