The Strategy and Quality Assurance (SQA) department conducted the Quality Management System (QMS) Internal Audit and Awareness Training for staff to reaffirm its commitment to sustaining a quality culture. The QMS Internal Audit Training, held from 6 to 7 August 2024, is an annual activity designed to equip and refresh the university-appointed internal auditors with knowledge and skills on QMS auditing principles, regulations, and guidelines. This training ensures that auditors can conduct internal audits effectively and that auditees and departments adequately address and continually adhere to the given standards’ requirements, as reflected in the MMU Quality Policy and relevant standard operating procedures.
The program continued with a one-day QMS Awareness training session for quality managers, assistant quality managers, and quality representatives on 8 August 2024. This training aimed to equip staff with knowledge about the MMU Quality Management System and focused on the effective use of QMS internal audit processes as a tool for business improvement. The outcome of this training will support the appointed internal auditors and auditees in their readiness for the upcoming QMS Internal Audit 2024 across the entire university. It is hoped that these training courses will further advance the quality mindset and culture among department and faculty staff in meeting objectives effectively.
