Multimedia University (MMU), along with seven other universities, has entered into a strategic partnership with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to support the establishment of the UKM Indonesia Offshore Centre in Jakarta. The other institutions involved are Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), University of Cyberjaya (UOC), and Spectrum International University College.
This landmark initiative was officially launched by YB Senator Dato’ Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, the Minister of Higher Education on 8 August 2024. The event marks a significant step forward in promoting Malaysian higher education on a global scale. As part of the grand launch, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between MMU and UKM. Representing MMU was its President, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, while UKM was represented by its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Ekwan Hj. Toriman. This partnership signifies a deep commitment to academic collaboration and the expansion of educational opportunities for students in the region.
The establishment of the UKM Indonesia Offshore Centre is a testament to the strong academic ties between Malaysian institutions and their shared vision of elevating the standards of education across borders. Also in attendance at the launch was Mr. Zambri Pawanchik, Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Admission, and Recruitment.
