In conjunction with the International Business Idea Competition (IBIC), scheduled for August 2024, the top 10 participants recently engaged in virtual sessions with their mentors in July 2024. This activity marked Phase 2 of the competition, featuring a distinguished lineup of mentors from The Changemaker Academy, including both current students and alumni from various faculties at MMU.
Mr. Vincent Chan from the Faculty of Business (FOB) curated a structured framework for the mentorship sessions, ensuring they were insightful and valuable for all participants. The mentors, selected for their extensive experience in national and international competitions, are renowned for their expertise and dedication. They are committed to guiding the participants through this critical phase, with alumni particularly dedicated to giving back to their alma mater by supporting this programme.
The mentors included Lashvini Velao (Alumni FOB – Co-founder of Chere), Nicklaus Gan (Alumni FOB – Best HR Student 2022), Lim Min Ying (Alumni FOE – 2023 MMU Chancellor Award Winner), Ng Jin Yang (FIST Student – Co-founder of Teru Teru), Mathavan Krishnan (FIST Student – Founder of Future Journey), Adam (FOM Student), Asif Shaik (FOE Student), Kalsum Preeti (FOM Student – Co-founder of SHARIN), Jogtika Ramasamy (Alumni FOM – Founder of Potaringa), Hoormila Nahooran (FOM Student – Founder of MoonbyHosh), and Reyshinder Ramish (FCM Alumni – Executive at MyDIGITAL).
Each team is required to meet with their mentors at least twice. These sessions aim to provide participants with in-depth insights and actionable advice to enhance and refine their business concepts. Upon completing Phase 2, the top 10 teams will advance to Phase 3, where they will have the opportunity to deliver their final pitches. These pitches will be presented to a panel of judges from various industries.
We wish all the participants the best of luck!
