On 14 August 2024, the Faculty of Management (FOM) welcomed a delegation from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) to the Cyberjaya campus. The delegation, led by Dr. Joe Lo Ying Tuan, Dr. Andrew Tan Huey Ping, and Senior Associate Professor Dr. Lau Teck Chai received a warm welcome by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Booi Chen, Dr. Hasni Mohd Hanafi, and Dr. Abdullah Mamun Sarwar. This visit provided a valuable opportunity for both institutions to explore avenues for potential collaboration.
Discussions during the visit focused on the possibility of establishing a mobility program that would facilitate exchanges between MMU’s MBA students and XJTLU’s MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (E&I) students. In addition to academic and research collaborations, MMU students have been invited to participate in the upcoming XJTLU Global Entrepreneurial Dream Chasers competition. This competition offers a unique platform for MMU students to showcase their entrepreneurial talents on a global stage, with registration open until 30 September 2024.
The visit also marked a significant milestone with the appointment of Dr. Joe Lo as the Thematic Guest Editor for Sustainability and Innovation for MMU Press’s International Journal of Management, Finance, and Accounting (IJOMFA). With IJOMFA now indexed in the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI), this presents an excellent opportunity for the MMU community to contribute their research to a recognized publication, further elevating MMU’s academic standing and fostering global partnerships.
