The top 10 teams of the International Business Idea Competition (IBIC) 2024 have gained invaluable knowledge and insights through The Future Changemaker Series. This series, comprising marketing strategy and business pitch workshops, took place from July to August 2024, equipping participants with the skills needed to excel in the upcoming final round.
Dr. Yeo Sook Fern, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business (FOB), kicked off the series with a workshop titled “Marketing Magic: Crafting Winning Business Ideas.” Dr. Yeo’s session provided deep insights into identifying market needs, crafting compelling value propositions, brand storytelling, developing effective marketing strategies, and pitching ideas persuasively.
Following this, the second workshop, “Pitch Perfect,” was conducted by Mr. Aniq Amrez, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Youth Ventures Asia, on August 3, 2024. Hosted by Ms. Kaviratna Narayansamy from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), this session focused on honing the participants’ pitching skills, ensuring they can present their ideas convincingly and with confidence.
These workshops were designed to deepen the finalists’ knowledge and better prepare them for the competition’s final round. The participants have shown high levels of dedication and commitment, eager to refine their skills and strategies. Their enthusiasm and hard work demonstrate their determination to excel in the IBIC 2024, showcasing their potential as future changemakers.
