The Career Fair 2024 Programs Committee, with support from MMU Career Connect and the Centre for Alumni (CfA), organized a workshop called Career Prep Talk 2024, aimed at preparing students for their professional journeys. The event took place on 17 August 2024 at the MMU Cinema, Cyberjaya, and was specifically designed to equip participants with essential skills for job hunting and career advancement.
The program featured three key workshops: Building a Powerful Resume, Mastering the Interview, and Leveraging LinkedIn and Job Applications. These sessions were led by industry experts, including Jolyn Tan ‘G’ Wern, Assistant Vice President at OCBC Bank (Permata Dunia, FOL, 2016); Mr. Edmund Teh Eng Soong, Head of Group Talent Acquisition at KPJ Healthcare Berhad (Permata Dunia, FOM, 2011); and Mr. Mohd Ibrahim Abu Bakar, Managing Director of Chirpy Media (Permata Dunia, FOE, 2007). The workshops provided valuable insights into the professional world.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and Q&A sessions and had the unique opportunity to receive personalized feedback on their resumes from the speakers, ensuring their documents were polished and tailored to attract potential employers. Career Prep Talk 2024 was more than just a workshop; it was a comprehensive training ground that bridged the gap between academic knowledge and the realities of the professional world.
