Lim Kai En, Cheang Tang Xing, and Kew Kai Wen from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) were invited to attend the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ceremony between the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) on 27 June 2024, in Kuala Lumpur.
This ceremony also celebrated the launch of the Premier Digital Tech Institution (PDTI) Tech Club, a joint initiative by MDEC and MoHE designed to promote innovation, digital skills, and tech entrepreneurship among university students. Representing the MMU IT Society, these students were selected to be part of the PDTI Tech Club alongside peers from Sunway University, Monash University, Asia Pacific University (APU), University of Malaya (UM), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), and Taylor’s University.
The club serves as a platform for students to engage in tech-related activities, projects, and collaborations, preparing them for future careers in the digital economy. Among the club’s highlighted objectives are skills development, encouraging innovative and creative solutions, building networking and collaboration, and enhancing career readiness. It is hoped that students will gain significant benefits from joining this club and actively participating in its initiatives.
