In June 2024, students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) took part in an enriching training session titled “Dare to Speak: The Presentation Power-Up.” This session was led by Ms. Veeramathevi Sundaram, an Empowerment Trainer and Coach at VE Resources. The event commenced with a welcoming address from Dr. Siti Zakiah Melatu Samsi, the Dean of FOB, who emphasised on the workshop’s critical role in the students’ personal and professional growth. This event was organized by a group of BBA Human Resource Management students taking the Training and Development subject.
The workshop aimed to help students overcome the personal and professional fears associated with public speaking. It featured a series of talks, engaging games, and other interactive activities designed to enhance their presentation skills. The students described the event as inspiring and full of valuable information on how to manage and overcome their presentation anxieties, and they learned techniques to speak confidently.
The event was also attended by Dr. Afandi Yusof, the Deputy Dean of FOB, Dr. Cheah Chew Sze, the Head of the Human Resource Management Department, and Dr. Kavitha Raman, the Deputy Head of the Human Resource Management Department, along with other faculty members. Their presence highlighted the event’s importance and the faculty’s dedication to fostering student development.
