On 21 June 2024, the Faculty of Business (FOB) hosted a certificate-giving ceremony to honour students’ dedication and achievements in completing their business projects. The event was graced by Dr. Siti Zakiah binti Melatu Samsi, Dean of FOB, alongside Dr. Afandi Yusof, Deputy Dean of Student Experience & Alumni.
A total of 420 foundation students from FOB, Faculty of Law (FOL), Faculty of Information Science & Technology (FIST), and Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) enrolled in the Fundamentals of Business Management course. As part of their coursework, students undertook business projects and were required to donate a portion of their profits to charitable organisations.
To deepen their understanding of social responsibility, students personally visited these organizations to deliver both monetary contributions and in-kind donations, engaging in related activities. This initiative aimed to fulfill their academic requirements and prepare students for future involvement with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and instill a strong sense of social responsibility.
During her speech, Dr. Siti Zakiah emphasised the significance of social responsibility across various industries students may pursue in their careers. She encouraged students to continue their philanthropic endeavours, highlighting its potential to positively impact society while shaping them into well-rounded individuals.
