The Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) launched its third Postgraduate Re-Ignite & Asia Pacific Artistic Research Network (APARN) Symposium 2024 at the MMU Cinema on 12 June 2024. The launch was honoured by the presence of Professor Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU. In his address, Prof. Dato’ Mazliham warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and artists from around the world, expressing his enthusiasm for the event and its contributions to the field of artistic research.
Prof. Dato’ also presented tokens of appreciation to the invited panelists, namely Professor Gunalan Nadarajah, Dean Emeritus at the University of Michigan, USA; Dr. Danny Butt, Senior Lecturer in Interdisciplinary Practice and Coordinator of Research at VCA, Design and Production Chair, Human Ethics Committee at the University of Melbourne, Australia; Ms. Samantha Jury, Director of the Doctorate of Fine Art and Research Group Leader for the Art Lab, School of Creative Arts at the University of Hertfordshire, UK; and Mr. Rob Godman, Reader in Music, School of Creative Arts at the University of Hertfordshire, UK during the opening ceremony of the symposium.
This two-day symposium featured a rich agenda, including the Open Colloquium, APARN, and the International Conference on Creative Multimedia. The event was graced by Ms. Nadia Mahmud, Dean of FCM, along with esteemed faculty members, participants, staff, and students. The convergence of these creative minds aimed to foster collaboration and innovation, setting the stage for groundbreaking discussions and artistic exploration.
