A group of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Applied Communication (FAC), accompanied by the Career Connect team, recently visited Publicis Groupe, a renowned multinational advertising and public relations company. This visit provided an invaluable opportunity for students to gain firsthand insight into the operations of a leading advertising firm.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Premlathan, the Talent Acquisition Director, who shared his extensive experience and expertise in the advertising field. He also provided an in-depth overview of Leo Burnett’s illustrious history, the company’s vibrant culture, and the numerous career opportunities available within the organization.

Students were treated to an enlightening presentation by the Heads of Departments under the Publicis Groupe umbrella, including DIGITAL, MSL, and other divisions. They gained fresh perspectives on the development of advertising campaigns, from conception to execution. Key aspects such as market research, creative brainstorming, and the pivotal role of digital media in modern advertising were thoroughly discussed. An office tour further allowed students to observe the dynamic environment where creative ideas come to life.

An engaging Q&A session followed, where students had the chance to interact with the team and ask questions about career opportunities, essential skills for success in the advertising industry, and the challenges faced by professionals in the field. The insights gained from these discussions were particularly valuable for students considering a career in advertising and marketing.

The visit concluded with a special session where souvenirs were presented to the moderators and speakers as tokens of appreciation from the university. This visit has surely elevated the students’ knowledge and deepened their understanding of the advertising industry, as well as enhanced their appreciation for the creativity and strategic thinking involved in crafting effective advertising campaigns.
