On 5 June 2024, 24 engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) embarked on an enriching industrial visit to Letromec Industries (KL) Sdn. Bhd., located in Taman Industri Meranti Jaya, Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia. This visit was organised by the faculty’s Industrial Linkage Committee (ILC).
The event commenced with an engaging introductory speech by Mr. Hong Khee Heng, Marketing Executive at Letromec Industries (KL) Sdn. Bhd. Following this, the students were treated to insightful presentations from industry experts. Mr. Victor Lee Yi Zheng, Manager of the Industrial Control Device Group at Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales (M) Sdn. Bhd., and Mr. Melvin Lim, R&D Specialist at Jigs Tech Automation Sdn. Bhd., shared their knowledge on current and future industry trends. Their talks highlighted job prospects in R&D, design engineering, automation technologies, and the essential skills needed for Industry 4.0.
The session concluded with a comprehensive site tour, where students had the opportunity to explore the product introduction, machining, and assembly sections of Letromec Industries (KL) Sdn. Bhd. This visit provided invaluable exposure and practical insights, enriching the students’ academic and professional aspirations.
