On 13 June 2024, 30 students from Multimedia University (MMU) Cyberjaya, accompanied by Dr. Foo Yee Loo from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE), embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to Huawei Malaysia. The primary objective of this visit was to familiarise students with Huawei’s latest technological innovations and career opportunities within the company. 

During their visit, students were introduced to Huawei’s groundbreaking work in various high-tech areas. They gained a deeper understanding of Huawei’s leadership in pioneering 5G solutions for businesses, AI applications such as virtual humans and weather prediction, and innovative digital power solutions. The tour also included an exploration of Huawei’s advanced solar inverters and energy storage systems, emphasising the company’s commitment to sustainable energy. 

In addition to these technological insights, students learned about Huawei’s advancements in Wifi 7 connectivity and cloud computing, highlighting the company’s role in shaping next-generation networking technologies. The visit provided a comprehensive overview of Huawei’s cutting-edge developments and their practical applications. 

The students also had the opportunity to interact with Huawei employees. These professionals shared valuable information about working at Huawei, including details on internship and employment opportunities. The faculty extended its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Anson Chia, Asia Pacific Talent Acquisition Specialist, and the Huawei team for their warm welcome and insightful presentations. This visit highlights MMU’s dedication to cultivating strong industry ties that not only enrich educational experiences but also open up promising career pathways for students.
