On 23 May 2024, the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) held its inaugural physical Dean’s List ceremony at Dewan Tun Canselor, Cyberjaya campus. The event recognised the exceptional academic achievements of 43 Foundation students, 49 Diploma students, and 181 bachelor’s degree students, who received their Dean’s List certificates from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Junaidi Abdullah, the FCI Dean.
Joining the Dean were Deputy Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lim Tek Yong and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ng Kok Why, along with lecturers and administrative staff. The event was also supported by Mr. Nareethiran A/L Bhuvaneswaran, the Vice President of Student Academics & Excellence (SADEX) in the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), and his team members, with Nareethiran serving as the deputy chair for the ceremony.
Parents of several students attended the ceremony, sharing in the joyous occasion with their children. The event included food and drinks for students and their families, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Additionally, student performances, including singing, enlivened the ceremony, making it a memorable day for all attendees.
Prior to this ceremony, the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) also celebrated its outstanding students with a Dean’s List ceremony on 17 May 2024 at the MMU Cinema, Cyberjaya campus. The event began with an inspiring speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ooi Chee Pun, the FOE dean. Following his remarks, 50 recipients were awarded their Dean’s List certificates by Dr Ooi, recognising their exceptional academic achievements. Among other event attendees were Prof. Ir. Dr. Hezerul Abdul Karim, Deputy Dean, parents and students.
