Thirteen postgraduate students participated in the Three Minutes Thesis (3MT) Competition 2024 at MMU Cinema, Cyberjaya campus on 10 May 2024. The competition not only honed participants’ academic and presentation skills but also served as a platform for refining research communication abilities.
Esteemed judges for the event included Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Afizan Azman from Taylor’s University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evyan Yang Chia Yan from Nilai University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Madhubala A/P Bava Harji from SEGi University. With just three minutes each, participants captivated the audience with engaging presentations of their research project.
As a result, Syed Fahmidul Huq claimed the top spot in the Master level category, with Muhammad Tamim Faruq Khairul ‘Azmi securing the first runner-up position and Aisyah Nadhirah Ahmad Nazmi clinching the second runner-up spot. In the PhD level category, Nuryusnita Yusoff emerged as the champion, followed by Yusliza Jamalut as the first runner up and Noah Ochieng’ Otiende as second runner-up. These exceptional individuals were awarded cash prizes of RM500, RM300, and RM200, respectively.
Furthermore, Muhammad Tamim Faruq Khairul ‘Azmi and Noah Ochieng’ Otiende received the People’s Choice Award, adding another feather to their caps. Two winners will represent MMU in the upcoming national 3MT competition. The event was concluded with a token of appreciation presented to the esteemed judges by Prof. Ts. Dr. Tee Connie, Dean of IPS.
