Let us extend our heartiest congratulations to Mr. Vincent Chan, our academic staff from the Faculty of Business (FOB) and his mentee, Lim Siok Jin from New Era University College for winning gold medal for the Startup Idea category at the recent Malaysia Startup Challenge (MSC) 2024. Their project, Abang Ai, is a platform that leveraging technology and AI to help the elderly in their daily life, specifically in purchasing groceries, medicines and others. The result of this online competition was announced on 5 May 2024.
In addition, Dashania Elvira Gregory, our FOB student, spearheaded a dynamic team comprising Lashvini Velao (FOB), Ee Suan, Clarice Lee Kah Yee (Faculty of Law, FOL), Abimanyu Sivasankar (Faculty of Computing and Informatics, FCI), and Stuartt Lee Gregory from the University of Malaya (UM) secured the silver medal for their groundbreaking project, Chère, at the same competition. Under the exceptional mentorship of Dr. Audrey Lim Li Chin and Dr. Mohammad Tariqul Islam Khan, the team received invaluable guidance and support throughout their competition journey. Through their project, Chère, the team showcased their unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of beauty technology, offering a tantalising glimpse into the future of personalised beauty experiences.
