On 8 May 2024, a total of 17 companies participated in a mini career day or known as CAREER CONNECTIONS at the Learning Point, Siti Hasmah Digital Library (SHDL), Cyberjaya campus. Organised by Career Connect, the event provided a platform for students to expand their networks and enhance their professional development. Among the participating companies were Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), DOO Technology MY, Top Glove, Graduan, Prasarana, NXP Semiconductors, and many more. Through this event, students engaged with industry representatives to gain insights into potential career pathways and industry trends. The students also explored the job and internship opportunities and submitted their resumes for the application.  

The event also featured Ms. Ku Sim Ling, a Permata Dunia from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE), who delivered a talk titled “My Journey to Influencer@Professionalbimbo”. A total of 50 students joined the session where the speaker shared her journey to becoming an influencer extraordinaire, shedding light on the reality of social media and the role of an “influencer” in today’s world, which may differ from common assumptions.  

She also provided advice on how individuals can achieve their goals with the right actions and strategies, drawing from her own experience of transforming her life from an engineer to influencer. The talk concluded with Associate Prof. Dr. Ong Jeen Wei, Director of Alumni Engagement, Career, and Entrepreneurship Development (ACED), presented a memento to Ms. Ku. In conclusion, the event impeccably achieved its objectives, leaving students eager for more similar programmes in the future.
