On 31 January 2024, Lifelong Learning for Empowerment (LIfE) hosted “Tari Vaganza”, a diverse dance performance at the Multipurpose Hall (MPH). Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU graced the occasion with his presence together with the representative from Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara, Mr. Mohd Izwan Suhairi.
In his speech, Prof Dato’ extended his gratitude to JKKN for its continued support in encouraging the artistic initiative, as the students’ performances were guided by the professional trainers from the department. Also attending the event were Dr. Ong Sue Lyn, Director of LIfE, Puan Sri Kusuma Wati Mohd Daud, Director of Student Lifestyle and Experience (STyLE) and other staff members.
Prior to this event, a theatre performance by Character Building- Performing Arts students was showcased at the same venue on 24 January 2024. The play, titled “Nyorok” was a testament to the students’ commitment in showcasing their talents. This play also served as a great platform to improve their self esteem, self-confidence and social skills.
This 30 minutes performance wove together elements of comedy, crime, and suspense, captivating the audience from the very first scene. The audience, composed of peers, faculty, and community members, supported each other in making this play a resounding success. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU also graced the play with his presence. A special appreciation also goes to the director, production team and actors for making this event a success.
