Let us congratulate the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) Professor, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Yusoff Alias for clinching another award this year as Chair of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Malaysia Communications Society and Vehicular Technology Joint Chapter (MyComVT). This time it is for the IEEE Communications Society 2023 Chapter Achievement Award for the Asia Pacific Region on 15 December 2023.
The award was presented during the Award Luncheon at the annual IEEE Global Communications Conference (Globecom) by Prof. Ana Garcia Armada, the Vice President for Member and Global Activities of IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) and witnessed by the current President of IEEE ComSoc, Prof. Xuemin (Sherman) Shen. Coincidently, this year, Kuala Lumpur has been chosen as the host for Globecom 2023.
The award is presented by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) annually for chapters that have achieved excellence in chapter activities and for contributions made in furthering the objectives of the society. Among other winners include the Jordan Joint Chapter for Europe, Middle East and Africa Region, Peru Chapter for the Latin America Region, and Central Texas Joint Chapter for the North America Region. Peru Chapter has also been named as the IEEE ComSoc Chapter of the Year for 2023.
