A delegation from ZTE Corporation, a global leader in telecommunications and information technology, visited Multimedia University (MMU) to enhance collaborative efforts and academic connections on 22 September 2023. The meeting, facilitated by representatives from both organisations, was marked by constructive discussions.

ZTE Corporation’s team, led by Mr Ying Gang, Vice President of ZTE Corporation’s Human Resources; Mr Duan Yulong, Director of ZTE Corporation’s Human Resources; Mr Lin Zhijiang, HR Director of ZTE Malaysia; and Dr. Diong Kahseng, Vice President of ZTE Malaysia, engaged with MMU counterparts. MMU was represented by Prof. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President (Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development) and MMU Melaka Campus Director; Dr. Yeo Boon Chin, Deputy Dean of Academic & International Relations; Dr. Liew Kia Wai, Deputy Dean of Student Experience & Alumni, Prof. Chan Yee Kit, Deputy Dean of Research & Industry Collaborations; and Prof. Lim Heng Siong, Lab Supervisor of ZTE-MMU Training Centre.

The visit began with a warm welcome by Campus Director Prof. Wong, who introduced MMU and its achievements. Faculty members then provided an overview of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), showcasing ZTE labs and initiatives and discussing future academic programmes, student and alumni activities, and adjunct professorship opportunities. ZTE representatives shared their insights, underscoring their perspective on collaboration. The exchange of gifts signified a strengthening relationship, and a tour of the ZTE lab allowed both parties to explore potential collaborations. The visit concluded positively, reinforcing the partnership between ZTE Corporation and Multimedia University and promising advancements in technological education and research.
