A total of 25 participants attended a workshop on ‘How to Write an Impactful Scholarly Book’ on 26 September 2023 at the Cyberjaya campus. Hosted by MMU Press, the workshop was conducted by the renowned award-winning author, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Roslan Abd Shukor, who shared his invaluable insights into writing and publication.
Prof. Roslan has authored several highly-regarded books, including ‘Secrets of Success in Writing High Impact Journals, Books, and Theses,’ ‘Managing Scholarly Journals: What Editors Should Know,’ and ‘Einstein in Malaya.’ The workshop covered various topics, including Myths about Writing, Writing a Book, and Tips for Good Writing (Page 99 Test).
Leveraging his extensive expertise as an author, Prof. Dato. Dr. Roslan emphasised the importance of presenting scholarly works in book format rather than confining them to journal articles. He highlighted how a well-crafted book can enhance an author’s reputation and have a lasting impact on the university community. The workshop left participants with valuable insights into the nuances of book publication, significantly boosting their confidence in their writing endeavours.
