A closing ceremony of Asas Perajurit Muda Sukarela (APMS) for Character Development Askar Wataniah was held on 10 August 2023 at the Melaka campus. A total of 25 students were recognised for their exemplary efforts, with 16 students hailing from the Melaka campus and 9 from the Cyberjaya campus.
These young recruits persevered through the challenges of the APMS program, showcasing their determination and unwavering spirit in a rigorous four-week training programme. Among the outstanding participants, Soo Xin Yuan from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) was announced as the Best Overall Student Recruit, a distinction well-deserved for exceptional performance and dedication to character development.
The event was officiated by Brigadier General Datuk Yusof Hj. Jantan, Regimen 514 Askar Wataniah. Among other attendees were Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneur Development (SEED); Dr. Ong Sue Lyn, Director of Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE), staff, lecturers, parents and other students.
