In July 2023, Afiq Danial Mohd Sukri from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) together with Jaya Sri Seegar from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, and Ong Yue Lin, a distinguished graduate of STPM SMJK (C) Katholik PJ represented Malaysia in the Global Youth Summit 2023 in South of Korea.
Hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF) of South Korea, the event was organised by the National Council of Youth Organizations in Korea (NCYOK) in partnership with the Korean Educational Psychology Association (KEPA), nearly 150 young leaders from almost 50 different countries around the world to collaboratively address global challenges under the theme of “Harmony of Global Youths Towards a Sustainable Future”.
Throughout the summit, these exceptional youth leaders engaged in lively discussions, exchanged innovative ideas, and collaborated with their international peers. Their collective efforts not only addressed pressing global challenges but also exemplified Malaysia’s dedication to fostering a culture of positive change and youth empowerment.
The Global Youth Summit provided a unique platform for the youth to connect and deepen their understanding of global issues, and contribute to a more sustainable world. By actively participating in discussions that revolved around the theme of harmony, they demonstrated Malaysia’s commitment to innovative problem-solving and its determination to create a better future for all.
As the summit concluded, Afiq Danial Bin Mohd Sukri, Jaya Sri Seegar, and Ong Yue Lin represented Malaysia with distinction, reaffirming the potential and strength of Malaysia’s youth. Their participation on the global stage not only inspired hope but also showcased Malaysia’s dedication to a harmonious and sustainable future.
