Let us extend our heartiest congratulations to our Permata Dunia, Ms. Tan Chui Mui for being invited to showcase her exhibition project at the 5th edition of The Recontres d’Arles from 3 July until 4 September 2023. The Recontres d’Arles is one of the largest, earliest, and most influential photography festivals in the world and Ms. Tan Chu Mui is one of the first Malaysian artists to be invited to the event.
Ms. Tan produces and showcases several work series generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI), mirroring her reflections, copyright, property, and image making including The Kinmen Series (2022), and The Arles Series (2023) while the video installation titled “The Emotion Machine” (2023) further explore the meaning of photography.
Ms. Tan graduated from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), Class of 2002, and has been making her marks in the creative industry. We at MMU take pride in our alumni’s accomplishments and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
