Jeffrey Quek Shue Yew, our final-year student from the Faculty of Business (FOB) was selected to attend the 7th EU-ASEAN Youth Talk Show, which was held virtually on 15 June 2023. Followed by 150 participants, the event served as a platform for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) youth to learn more about the European Year of Skills, which emphasises on equipping young people with the right skills for quality jobs as well as engaging in society.
The talk show featured prominent speakers namely Benjie Aquino, a youth activist, human rights defender, and a real changemaker at the international level; Dr Amin Farid, a choreographer, arts educator, and researcher and Jeanne Cottenceau who is the EU-funded Sustainability Issues Metaverse for Building Participatory Learning Environments (SIMPLE) project member. This event was officiated by H.E. Igor Driesmans as the EU Ambassador to ASEAN. It is hoped participants gained positive remarks and perspectives in expanding their horizons, especially in developing skills for their future endeavours.
