On 1 June 2023, the Faculty of Business (FOB) had the privilege of inviting Ms Nur Aqilah Mohd Nor, one of their esteemed Permata Dunia, to deliver a talk at the FOB Ibiz Lab. Ms Nur Aqilah, who graduated from MMU in 2015 and currently works as a chartered accountant at Habib Group Berhad, brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the event. Her talk focused on the importance of education and the need to prepare students for the challenging roads that lie ahead. With a diverse audience comprising FOB staff, students, and other alumni, the talk session was conducted in a hybrid mode, allowing participants to engage both in person and virtually.
During her insightful talk, Ms Nur Aqilah captivated the audience with her profound insights and inspiring words. She highlighted the transformative power of education and emphasised the significance of equipping students with the necessary skills to thrive in an ever-changing world. Her experiences as a chartered accountant provided a practical perspective on the challenges and opportunities that await graduates in the professional realm. The attendees, including the head of BBA (Hons) Human Resource Management programme; Dr. Cheah Chew Sze and other attendees were deeply moved and motivated by her words, gaining valuable insights and renewed determination to excel in their educational pursuits.
After the enlightening talk session, FOB arranged a special tour to showcase the upgrades made within MMU. Ms Nur Aqilah and Mr Muhammad Firdaus, who had the opportunity to witness the growth and progress of their alma mater, were particularly excited about the changes that aligned with the current needs of the industry. As they explored the campus, they could see first-hand the innovative learning spaces that had been introduced. The tour not only evoked a sense of nostalgia among the alumni but also instilled a sense of pride and confidence in the institution’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for students’ growth and success.
