A total of 31 students and three lecturers from the Faculty of Business (FOB) made an educational trip to the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Museum and Art Gallery on 20 June 2023. The trip was coordinated by Ms. Ummu Umairah together with Ms. Nur Iylia Syafiqah Abdul Malik and Ms. Afifah Abd Wahid. The primary objective of this excursion was to provide the students with exposure to the Malaysian economy and to educate them about the pivotal role played by the Malaysian Central Bank in the nation’s economic development and financial landscape.
The visit to the BNM Museum and Art Gallery proved to be highly beneficial for the students as they had the opportunity to explore a variety of themes showcased in its six permanent galleries. These galleries included the Bank Negara Malaysia Gallery, Economics Gallery, Islamic Finance Gallery, Numismatics Gallery, Art Gallery, and Children’s Gallery. Through these galleries, the students gained insights into how economic policies shape the nation’s progress and were able to comprehend Malaysia’s economic journey from its independence to the present day.
Overall, the educational trip offered a comprehensive learning experience to the students. They not only acquired knowledge about the Malaysian economy but also discovered the impact of economic policies on the country’s development. Additionally, the students had the chance to appreciate the extensive range of themes presented in the museum’s galleries, including the fields of economics, Islamic finance, numismatics, art, and children’s exhibits. The visit to the Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery left the students with valuable insights into the workings of the central bank and its contribution to the nation’s economic growth.
