MMU Trailblazer, our student team from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) was ranked among the Top 30 at the Grand Finale pitching competition of the Diversity and Inclusion Movement by Youth (DIYC) Business Plan Challenge 2023, recently.  The team pitched their innovative solution, “Wasted to Wanted” which connects food businesses with excess food to buyers at a discounted rate, incentivising purchase and most importantly, reducing food waste at Hotel Sunway, Iskandar Puteri Johor Bahru.

Supervised by Ms. Azrena Mohd Noor from the Faculty of Management, the team members consisted of Thaniges Kumar, Lim Zing, Lim Zhi Pin, Quah Ming Yi, and Nur Irdina Md Safuan also came up with the “Trash to Nature’s Treasure”, a service to buy kitchen waste from households and businesses and turn them into compost to be sold to farmers. This initiative also helps to reduce waste and promote sustainable agriculture.

Well done!
