MMU, represented by the Lifelong Education team in LEARN secured the bronze medal for the Lifelong Learning category at QS Wharton Reimagine Education Awards 2022 on 8th December 2022. Led by Dr. Tenku Putri Norishah Tenku Shariman, the GERAK INITIATIVE project – Moving Employees Up the Career Ladder project, which highlights Micro-credential courses managed to beat other 200 entries from all over the world. 

The Lifelong Learning category awards projects or initiatives that demonstrate impact and effectiveness in providing opportunities for personal and professional development, including upskilling and re-skilling, beyond formal education. Organised by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Reimagine Education is a global conference and competition, open to educational innovators from all around the world. 

The event brings together edtech startups, academic faculty from top institutions, Chief Innovation Officers, university leadership, teachers, and other stakeholders in the future of higher education teaching and learning landscape. The Gold and Silver awards were won by the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) from India- Gold and the OPEN Platform for Innovation (PLAi) from Jalisco, Mexico respectively.
