In an effort to strengthen the bond between alumni and alma mater, a gathering of Permata Dunia was held at Cititel Penang Hotel on 1st October 2022. Hosted by the Centre for Alumni (CfA), the event was also attended by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, and 45 alumni.
The event was also graced by the presence of Permata Dunia Yang Berhormat Zairil Khir Johari, Penang EXCO for Infrastructure and Transport and Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, member of the Board of Trustees, Yayasan Universiti Multimedia (YUM).
During the event, the leaders for Northern Chapter were also selected via a voting session by all attendees. They were Roshini Ratnasingam as Chapter Leader and Jason Oh Jia Sheng as Assistant Chapter Leader.
Also attending the event were Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED); Puan Nor A’dni Ismail, Vice President of Finance and Business Ventures; Dr. Ong Jeen Wei, Director of Alumni Engagement, Career Entrepreneurship Development (ACE), faculty deans and other MMU officers. It is hoped that this event opens up networking opportunities among Permata Dunia and the university itself.
