On 12th September 2022, Multimedia University (MMU) launched its new initiative, iCadet in grooming industry-ready graduates with the right talent for the right industry. Mr. Imri Mokhtar, Managing Director/ Group of Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of TM graced the launching ceremony at Dewan Tun Canselor, Cyberjaya campus.
In his speech, Mr. Imri mentioned that many of the future leaders of our young generation will attain great benefit and will eventually become industry-ready graduates. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU also expressed his excitement, where the programme is believed to become a game changer in the industry and it also strengthens the relationship between academia and industry as well as open up opportunities with more industry partners through this initiative.
A total of 35 companies have confirmed their participation and participating MMU students will undergo modules of activities, including an industry handshake programme, industry attachment, industry final year project, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events, as well as company visits and annual events. By working closely with their selected company, each student will be introduced to the company’s working culture, people and nature of business. In short, the programme helps to nurture future talents that meet the industry’s needs.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Hairul Azhar Abdul Rashid, Vice President of Special Tasks made a brief introduction of the iCadet programme during the event. The highlight of the event was when representatives of the companies received the recognition plaque from Mr. Imri Mokhtar and witnessed by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham followed by group photos. Among the recipients were Datuk Seri (Dr) Syed Hussian Aljunid, the Group Chairman of Media Prima; Dr. Valerie Barbosa from the Embassy of France to Malaysia; Mr. Steven Ge from ZTE (Malaysia) Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and many others. Also attending the event were Management Committee members, faculties representatives and students.
