Gaining a Clear Understanding of FinTech in Malaysia

On 7th September 2022, the Faculty of Business (FOB) hosted a webinar titled ‘Digital Finance and Regulatory Landscape: Malaysian Experience’ by Prof. Dr. Nafis Alam, Head of School of Business, Monash University Malaysia. The event was organised by the Centre for Globalization and Sustainability Research (CGSR) to enhance academicians’ knowledge of teaching and research-related matters. The webinar was attended by nearly 30 academic staff from FOB and the Faculty of Management (FOM).

Prof. Nafis, who is an expert in fintech, banking regulation, financial stability, and corporate finance areas, shared his insights and elaborated on the fintech landscape in Malaysia. The session was then followed by a Q&A session with the participants. Also attending the event was Dr Yeo Sook Fern, Deputy Dean of Research and Collaboration, FOB. It is hoped that the participants gained valuable information and input on the fintech landscape in the country.
