On 6th and 7th July 2022, the Faculty of Business (FOB) hosted a virtual visit by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosmini Omar, the external examiner for the Bachelor of Business (Hons.) International Business programme. The visit was aimed to review the programme and better align its curriculum to meet the rising challenges of an increasingly volatile and turbulent business world.
The visit began with a welcoming note by Dr. Lye Chun Teck (Dean of FOB), Dr. Ng Tuan Hock (Deputy Dean of Academic and International Relations) and Dr. Tan Pei Kian (Head of Department), followed by an interview with staff and students, a review of the programme’s quality management system, and a talk entitled “The Next Normal: How Can We Reset Together”. In the talk, Dr. Rosmini highlighted the present conditions in the academic world, the new norms, and the risks and opportunities for growth in the near future.
The visit was concluded on the second day, after the presentation of findings of the visit by Dr. Rosmini, and closing remarks by the Dean, Deputy Dean (AIR) and the Head of Department. Dr. Rosmini is currently serving as the Dean and Associate Professor at the Azman Hashim International Business School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She is also currently a Visiting Instructor and Professor at Helsinki School of Business, Finland, and an Editorial Advisory Board Member of the Journal of Management, Economics and Industrial Organisation.
