Five MMU students will represent Malaysia in the upcoming ASEAN University Games (AUG) in Ubon Ratchathani Thailand. They are Tan Li Ting (FOM), Chua Jia Tien (FOL), Christy Teh (FOL), Tai Chuan Zhe (FOB) and Wee Yong Gan (FIST). The competition will be held from 26th July until 6 August 2022. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU met with the athletes at his office on 13th July 2022.
Tan Li Ting and Chua Jia Tien will compete in chess, while Christy Teh, Chuan Zhe and Yong Gan will compete in swimming, badminton and basketball respectively. On top of that, two of our staff namely Mr. Mohd Zulfadili Hamzah, and Shafiee Mohd from Student Affairs Division (STAD) are appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to manage the sport climbing category at the competition. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham was briefed on the progress of their preparation for the competition. Also attending the meet and greet session were Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED); Puan Sri Kusumawati, Director of Student Affairs Division (STAD), and MMU officers.
