Congratulations to Team 215 consisting of Aaron Abishai Andrew, Jhaivahhini Gunasegaran and Surekha from the Faculty of Law (FOL) for emerging as champion at the RWC-NAMCO Sports Arbitration Mooting Competition (SAMCO 2022) on 5th June 2022. Team 215 defeated the team from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Jhaivahhini was also awarded the Best Oralist (Grand Final) at the competition.
On top of that, another participating team from MMU, Team 214 which was represented by Tan Zec Kie, Cheah Xiao Xhuang and Saw Thiam Yap and also Aaron Abishai Andrew from Team 215 also unlocked another achievement when Tan Zec Kie and Aaron Abishai Andrew were announced as the top five Best Oralists in the General Rounds.
SAMCO 2022 is a sports arbitration-based mooting competition, which serves as a platform to expose law students to the areas of sports law and real-life experience of conducting hearings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). It also helps the students to gain a better understanding of dispute resolution and issues in the sports world.
