Two of MMU students, Tan Li Ting and Chua Jia Tien have made the university proud for their achievement of representing Malaysia in the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA) Games in Vietnam from 10 until 21 May 2022.
Li Ting, Bachelor of Accounting student and Jia Tien, Foundation of Law student, are the two out of 10 national players for chess games in the prestigious SEA games. Li Ting, will be competing in Individual Standard Chess and Team Rapid Chess categories while Jia Tien will be participating in Individual Rapid Chess and Individual Blitz Chess. Both of them, not merely representing Malaysia, but also bringing the MMU names and reputation to the international level.
This is the third time Li Ting represented Malaysia in the SEA Games. In the global chess arena, she currently scored 2087 rating and was awarded the title Women FIDE Master by the International Chess Federation or World Chess Federation (FIDE). As for Jia Tien, she carried the title Women Candidate Master and scored 1822 rating globally and this is her first time participating in SEA Games.
