FOM Students Win Second Runner Up at CFA Institute Research Challenge Local Finals 2021/22

A team of five students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) namely Lydia Yong Hui Ying, Kendrick Tan Yee Jiun, Wong Zi Jie, Tan Hui Rui, and Goh Zhi Qing won the second runner up at the CFA Research Challenge Local Finals 2021/22 on 19 February 2022. The Bachelor of Financial Engineering students received support and guidance from Ms. Nur Izzat Aiman Nur Faiz as the industry advisor from CFA and Dr. Chong Lee Lee as the university advisor for the competition.

The team exhibited good teamwork, strong analytical skills, and worked diligently in completing their research report. They managed to be shortlisted as one of the finalists and won the second runner-up at the competition. The students will receive a cash prize of RM1,000 for this achievement. CFA Research Challenge is an annual global event participated by university students, guided by hands-on mentoring from both the industry mentor and university advisor.
