A group of five students from diverse faculties namely Raisa Alam, Leong Wei Shen, Dashania Elvira Gregory, Darren Bong Yuan Ming, and Yvonne Wong Zhen Jing won second place at the HWUMAF Virtual Business Competition, recently. The competition was organised by Heriot-Watt University Malaysia’s Accounting & Finance Club on 18th and 19th February 2022. The team received a cash prize of RM500 for this achievement. With the guidance of Mr. Vincent Chan, a lecturer from the Faculty of Business (FOB), the team performed an outstanding presentation on the case study beating the other 4 teams from different varsities in the finals.
The competition also featured some talks from major firms’ representatives including Baker Hughes and CPA Australia on the human resource Sector (employee working from home), finance sector, and many more. The participants were required to make research and presented their findings on the business case study provided by the organizer. The case revolved around enhancing the organisation called Reservation.com on how to increase the revenue during these trying times and innovative measures for the business to stand out amongst others.
