More than 30 volunteers from Multimedia University took part in beach cleaning activities at Pantai Minyak Beku, Batu Pahat Johor on 13 December 2021. This University Social Responsibility programme (USR) was coordinated by University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC) and MMU Superheroes in an effort to promote awareness of having clean beaches as well as to preserve the beauty of the environment. The programme was officiated by Tuan Haji Kamaluddin Haji Jamal, Yang Dipertua Majlis Perbandaran Batu Pahat (MPBP) with the presence of Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, the President of MMU.
The programme also served as an avenue for the volunteers to learn and appreciate marine life and contributed to ensuring the continued conservation of marine life from extinction. On top of that, these volunteer activities and community service can help to train leadership qualities, boost social skills, and empathy to the community among our students. Also attending the event were Mdm Sri Kusumawati Mohd Daud, Director of Student Affairs Division (STAD) and other STAD officers.
