Web Design for Beginners or known as WEBDEB is a series of workshops organised by IEEE Multimedia University (MMU) Student Branch and IEEE Geomatika University College (GUC) Student Branch to introduce the basics of web development to students, in conjunction with IEEE Day 2021. The three-day workshop covered the basic concept of web development including HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, and WordPress.
There were a total of 121 participants from different varsities participated in the session including Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and XIAMEN University Malaysia.
Web Design Competition was also hosted during the session, and Top 3 Best Web Designer Awards were awarded to Nur Ashley Aisyah Binti Khazrulnizam (MMU), Wong Kah Chung (MMU), and Aishah Binti Abd Rahman (UPM). The winners received cash prizes for the competition. The organiser would like to extend its heartiest congratulations to all winners and appreciation to IEEE Malaysia Section and MMU for supporting and sponsoring the event. Not only that, a big thank you to all amazing instructors, judges, and committee members for making this event a success.
